Merlin - Season 2 Finale

Just finished watching Merlin season 2 finale - The Last Dragonlord. Downloaded it from Youtube coz it's not yet been aired here in Malaysia. But you can watch the episodes here every Sunday night at 9:00pm on TV3, just started few weeks ago. Have to wait quite long for the season finale though.

Previously in episode 12 - The Fires of Idirsholas, Merlin had to free the Great Dragon, Kilgara, due to his oath. And now, driven by its rage, Kilgara attacks Camelot. Arthur and his men are loosing the battle and even Merlin can't defeat him. The only man who can defeat him is the Dragonlord but Uther had them all slaughtered many years ago. Gaius reveals the truth that there might be one of them still alive and hiding. Arthur wants to seek for the Dragonlord and ask for his help, but Uther refuses. Arthur disobeys him.

Right before Merlin and Arthur head out for the quest, Gaius reveals another secret to Merlin. The Dragonlord, Balinor is not only Camelot's last hope, but is his father. Can't bear to watch Merlin's reaction when he finds out that his father is still alive, not dead like what he's been told for years.

When they finally found Balinor, Merlin had a chance to tell him that he is his son. But poor Merlin... he could only spent a night with his father when finally his father dies protecting him. It's so dramatic! Colin plays his character very well. Almost had me in tears. And with his father dies, that leaves Merlin to be the last Dragonlord. And now, only he can defeat Kilgara.

It's so excruciating to finally found his father but only to loose him forever. Poor Merlin.... :(
but on second thought, if his father lives, then he won't be needing Gaius anymore... and that couldn't happen coz this show needs Gaius...

This episode is the best ever! You can see the true Merlin. He finally takes control. So good to see him like that. Most of time, Arthur would treat him like an idiot. Can't wait to watch season 3. It's said that season 3 would be aired Sept 2010. Wow! Can't wait that long! Hope it will be sooner ;)

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009)

Finished watching the latest episode of Harry Potter. Was quite surprised when Snape turns out to be on the Dark Lord's side. Even surprised when at the end, Prof. Dumbledore dies! Can't wait to see the next episode. I wonder when is this movie going to end, and how is it going to end... hmm...

Supplements And Its Deficiency

Not many knows about supplement, even doctors. If you want to learn about supplement and nutrition, ask Nutritionist. Don't ask doctors, most of them only know about diseases and its cure (medicines and drugs). I too knew nothing about supplement during my first pregnancy. That's why, among my four kids, Aisyah is the most vulnerable one coz when I was carrying her, I took not enough supplement.

I only took multivitamin (Obimin, which was provided by the doctor) and calcium + magnesium, to prevent cramps and backache. And after she was born, every month she would catch a fever (after each monthly injection). And when that happened, she would just lie on the bed, weak. Every month we went through the same thing - monthly injection, fever. We thought it was normal but actually it was due to the deficiency of vitamin C.

"Among vitamin C's many functions is the major role it plays in the Immune System, where, according to growing evidence, it helps increase resistance to a range of diseases, including infections and cancer. " - The Real Vitamin & Mineral Book, page 152.

The Real Vitamin & Mineral Book - Book

So, after we knew the fact, every time when I got pregnant, we would make sure that I took enough vitamin C for our baby. It was worth it coz Amal, Anis and Fathi are much stronger than Aisyah. They didn't catch a fever after each monthly injection. In fact, they rarely got sick. And if they do, they would still be running, jumping and playing as usual as if they were not even sick. And they would get better in just a few days....Alhamdulillah....

Another vitamin that is very important is Folic Acid. It helps to prevent birth defects in the child and also to prevent defects of the neural tube, the structure in the embryo that gives rise to the brain, the spinal cord, and other parts of the central nervous system (The Real Vitamin & Mineral Book page 136).

When I first got pregnant, I didn't know about the importance of Folic Acid up until I gave birth of Aisyah. She was flaccid. Her backbone took quite some time to get sturdy, and she weren't able to raise her head well up until she was few months old. Different from her, the others were able to raise their heads within two weeks after birth and some even soon after birth. Their backbone were sturdy right after birth.

Alhamdulillah my hubby likes to read. And because of that, we gain a lot of valuable knowledge. Because of that also, we were able to find out the importance of nutrition and supplement, especially to our baby.

Among the books that my hubby always refer to when necessary (related to Nutrition and Supplement) :
  1. The Real Vitamin & Mineral Book by Shari Lieberman (Ph.D, CNS, FACN) and Nancy Bruning - authors of Dare to Lose (ISBN 1-58333-152-2)
  2. Family Circle - The Vitamin and Mineral Counter by Jody Vassallo (ISBN 174045052-3)
  3. Reader's Digest - The Healing Power of Vitamins, Minerals and Herbs (ISBN 1 876689 00 5)
  4. Prescription for Nutritional Healing by Phyllis A. Balch (CNC) and James F. Balch (M.D.) (ISBN 1-58333-077-1)
And there are quite some informations on vitamins in Pa&Ma Catatan Lengkap Sepanjang Kehamilan dan Kelahiran - 40 Minggu Nan Indah (ISSN 1823-3368)

Next, will be sharing about other supplements.

It's Positive!

26 days late. Last month, 20 days. A month before, 10 days. So I thought that probably this month, my period would be 30 days late. But this morning, I was proved wrong!

Last night I asked my hubby to get me a urine tester, just to be sure. So, this morning, I ran a test. It came out POSITIVE! I'm pregnant! Was shocked. Didn't know what to say.... was speechless...

but, Alhamdulillah... so grateful to Allah for this gift.... really really grateful...

Told my hubby the surprising news... he too was a bit surprised... neither of us were expecting this... but still, am really grateful...

Now, I have to start taking the necessary supplements for both my baby and me, again. Fail to do so, then my baby would have a problem with its health. Supplement is very important. Trust me, I know! I've experienced 4 pregnancies and had given birth to four kids.

Next, will be sharing about all the necessary supplements and the effect of its lack (based on my experience, and my hubby's reading).

G.I. Joe

Just finished watching G.I. Joe : The Rise Of Cobra. One word for it... Wow! Full of thrill!! For those who wants to get their blood pumping, watch this movie. Seriously! You won't get off your seat once you start watching it. Loved to watch G.I. Joe when I was a kid. Back then, it was only cartoon. Now, I'm glad that they made it into movie. Good work!

Raya Tapi Tak Beraya

Malam tu, Anis cirit-birit ngan muntah-muntah. Keesokannya pun sama. Lepas selesai korban, kami bawak la Anis ke klinik. Tapi malangnya, disebabkan hari tu hari raya, takder satu pun klinik atau farmasi kat area Pasir Mas yang bukak. Semuanya cuti. Kami pun try cari kat area KB pulak. Alhamdulillah ada la satu klinik berhampiran KB Mall yang bukak.

Doktor cakap dia food poisoning. Tapi kami takleh nak detect apa punca dia coz setiap apa yang dia makan, kami sefamily pun makan. Hmm....

Pastu doktor cakap, dalam keadaan camtu (cirit-birit), Anis takleh minum susu berlaktosa. So, kami kena tukar kepada susu non-lactose, susu soya. Kami pun terus cari farmasi coz kedai biasa tak jual susu non-lactose ni sebab mahal dan jarang orang guna kecuali special case jer.

Tapi puas kami cari, takder satu farmasi pun yang beroperasi hari tu. Even TESCO ngan KB Mall pun tutup! Alamak! Camner ni... balik nanti Anis mesti mintak susu. Nak tak nak, kami terpaksa gantikan susu dia dengan soya yang dalam kotak. Tapi dia tak nak... aduss...

Lepas tu, Aisyah pulak yang muntah-muntah, cirit-birit dan demam. Amal pun kena. Isy... berjangkit la pulak... ya Allah, besar sungguh ujian kali ni... kesian pulak kat mama sebab bersusah payah tolong jaga Aisyah dan adik-adik dia... tapi Alhamdulillah la Fathi setakat berak cair jer, tak demam atau muntah. Lepas bawak semua ke klinik, paksa makan ubat barulah ok sikit.

Kalau tengokkan pada tanda-tanda, diorang ni kena taun. Tapi masa kat klinik, doktor tak cakap pulak kena taun. Tak tau lah samada doktor tak sure ataupun tak nak create panic.

Ni lah first time raya tapi tak dapat nak beraya... huhuhu...

Trip To Singapore

Last week, we had an opportunity to visit Singapore. Well, not really a 'visit'. We had a business conference there. But still, for once, I had a chance to visit another country... yeay...

I was amazed by the country. It was so clean. You won't even find a single trash on the street. So amazing! So different than here. Here, people always litter, even on the road, while driving! Can you believe that! But there... wow! By the way, we found this...

maybe this is why they never litter (",)

this is where we stayed for the night

breakfast at KTM

food court just beside the railway

the Eye of Singapore

unique ey...

On the second day, we had a chance to visit Maqam Habib Noh.

Maqam Habib Noh

night view, right before we head back to KL

ready for christmas, already??

ho..ho..ho..

Singapore is a fine country. Really clean and well managed. Love to stay there longer. But the cost of living... wow! Very extremely high! Couldn't imagine how to survive there! I mean, we barely survive even just for two days. Everything needs money!

Looking forward to visit it again. But next time, need to bring more money... ;p
